Autograph letter : London, to "my dear Marjory" Moore, 1900 Mar. 13.

Discussing an argument with her publisher, noting "he wants a bigger book than he has got enough money to pay for!" Thinking that "Miss Potter will go off to another publisher soon!" Reporting that "she would rather make 2 or 3 little books costing 1/- each, than one big book costing 6/- because she thinks little rabbits cannot afford to spend 6 shillings on one book, and would never buy it." Describing a visit to the reading room a the British Museum, where she saw "a delightful old book full of rhymes," and intending to sketch these rhymes even if they are not published. Discussing the layout of the reading room and describing some other visitors. Mentioning that she will bring Keating's powder on her next visit and noting "it is very odd there should be fleas in books!" Illustrated with sketches of rabbits looking in a bookstore window, the reading room at the British Museum, and flea-men leaping with books. Also with sketches illustrating her recent argument with her publisher.
